"After a 17 day trial, a Los Angeles jury has issued a complete defense verdict in favor of Angeles National Golf Club affirming that the claims made by a former employee were without merit. Attorneys Theresa Kristovich and Joshua B. Wagner from Gordon & Reese LLP successfully defended the golf club against allegations of retaliation, discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination lodged by former employee Carly Cooter.
"The jury of eight men and four women cleared Angeles National Golf Club of any wrongdoing and rejected Ms. Cooter's claims entirely. The evidence at trial showed that Ms. Cooter's allegations were so outrageous and unfounded that we are not surprised that the jury rejected her false claims. We are thankful to the jury for seeing through the misinformation presented by the plaintiff and her attorney Ann A. Hull.
"The vindication for Angeles National Golf Club should serve as a warning that Angeles National Golf Club will vigorously defend itself against all false and unfounded claims. As we said before the trial, the former employees who have sued the club based on unfounded claims are simply attempting to benefit financially by making false claims. Just as in the Cooter case, Angeles National will aggressively defend itself against other meritless claims and lawsuits. Angeles National will soon be filing a cost bill with the court in an effort to recover certain of its defense costs against Cooter herself."
