Concurrent Technologies Corporation Celebrates 25th Anniversary

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Aug. 22, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is celebrating its 25th anniversary! CTC was first known as Metalworking Technology Inc. (MTI), a subsidiary of the University of Pittsburgh Trust. MTI was incorporated on August 28, 1987, to operate the National Center for Excellence in Metalworking Technology (NCEMT), which opened in 1988.

By 1992, MTI was growing fast and outgrowing its name. To more accurately portray the organization's expanded mission—something beyond advanced metalworking technologies—the company changed its name to Concurrent Technologies Corporation.  Two years later, CTC separated from the University of Pittsburgh Trust to become a fully independent entity.  Today, CTC is an independent, nonprofit, applied research and development professional services organization providing innovative management and technology-based solutions to a wide range of clients representing state and federal government as well as the private sector.

On August 1, 2012, Congressman Mark S. Critz (PA-12) offered the following remarks to the House of Representatives in honor of CTC's 25th anniversary and the accomplishments that the company has made.  "Over its 25 years, Concurrent Technologies Corporation, in partnership with its clients, has created numerous breakthrough technologies and innovative solutions."

"Because of their efforts, the United States military is better equipped to serve our great nation and the United States is a safer place to live for all of us," said Congressman Critz.  The entirety of Congressman Critz's speech can be found here.

"At CTC, we take great pride in the innovative solutions that we provide to our clients, yet we are equally proud of the way we perform our work.  We genuinely care about clients' and employees' needs.  As we reflect upon 25 years' worth of accomplishments, we continue to be very optimistic about CTC's future," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President & Chief Executive Officer.

"We are prepared for the challenges that a dynamic marketplace presents to us.  We have a vision and roadmap for achieving our goals.  This anniversary is a celebration of 25 years of innovation at work."

"CTC has earned numerous national awards over the years.  For example, we were named one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere Institute; listed as one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania for eleven consecutive years; and recognized as a Top 100 Government Contractor by Washington Technology magazine five times in the past six years," said Sheehan.

"The source of our success has always been our employees.  They are subject matter experts in their fields, and they are also leaders in their local communities.  I applaud their efforts over the past 25 years and know that great things are ahead because our capable and dedicated team is personally committed to making sure that our Company and our clients do well."
