Spectrum Open Raises More Than $1 Million for Cancer Research, Treatment, and Care Initiatives


Tacoma, WA, Aug. 31, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TACOMA, WASHINGTON, - August 31, 2012 - Spectrum Pension Consultants, Inc. (Spectrum), a retirement benefits consulting firm, is pleased to announce the results of its 7th annual Spectrum Open Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner Event, which was held Monday, August 27, 2012 at Fircrest Golf Club.

The 2012 Spectrum Open and dinner event raised more than $150,000 for cancer research, treatment, and care initiatives, bringing the total gross since inception to more than $1 Million.

"We are incredibly pleased with the outpouring of community support.  This tremendous accomplishment would not have been possible without the generosity of countless sponsors, donors, program participants, and volunteers," said Mary Koumantaros, Pano's widow and the event's chairperson.

Launched by Spectrum in 2006, the Spectrum Open Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner Event benefits the Pano Koumantaros Cancer Research Fund (the Fund), under the custody of the Franciscan Foundation.  The Fund, named after Spectrum's founder who lost a 6-month battle with bladder cancer in December 2005, supports cancer research, treatment, and care initiatives.
