ORBIT Wins 1st Contract to Install ADAMS on the An-148/158 Aircraft


NETANYA, Israel, Sept. 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ORBIT Communication Systems, Ltd., a subsidiary of ORBIT Technologies Ltd. (TASE:ORBI), a provider of mission-critical connectivity solutions in a variety of markets, including satellite communications, tracking and telemetry, and communications management systems, today announced that a commercial version of its Airborne Digital Audio Management System (ADAMS) has been certified for installation onboard the An-148/158 aircraft by Russia's civil aviation authority, the Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (ARIAC).

Immediately following this certification, ORBIT won a major contract from a Russian company for the supply of several ADAMS communication systems. Additional orders are expected to follow.

Certification of ORBIT's communication management system by the Russian authorities marked the culmination of a demanding and comprehensive process that spanned for more than a year. The actual certification was conducted by ARIAC in collaboration with Israel's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAI), which had previously certified ORBIT's systems.

ORBIT's Airborne Digital Management Systems (ADAMS) is a high-performance communication system, designed to meet the complex requirements of medium and large crew aircraft such as commercial airliners and transportation or cargo applications. This modular COTS system supports up to 20 users, 16 radios and 31 receivers, 6 recording outputs, discrete lines and configurable internal intercom networks this system can be provided with a PA system.
