FiberZone Names William Simmelink as CEO


WASHINGTON, Sept. 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FiberZone Networks, the leading provider of Automated Fiber Management (AFM) solutions for datacenters and networks, today named William Simmelink as its Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors. The appointment is part of scaling FiberZone's operations in the U.S. and worldwide to deliver large-scale customer deployments of its market leading AFM.

Bill Simmelink is an industry veteran with a track record of success over 30 years of experience in executive management, and extensive international experience in sales, marketing and business development in the communications industry. Prior to joining FiberZone, he served as President of the Americas and India for Coppergate Communications, an Israeli-based semiconductor networking company acquired by Sigma Designs. Previously Bill was President and General Manager of Texas Instruments' Voice-over-IP business unit. Under his leadership, the business experienced robust growth, positioning TI as the world's leading supplier of Voice-over-IP semiconductors and software. Before Texas Instruments, Bill served as Vice President Business Development at Telogy Networks which was acquired by Texas Instruments in 1999. Bill began his career at AT&T and was an Assistant Vice President at Hughes Network Systems.
