Berkeley Research Group Continues International Expansion With Increased Presence in Canada


EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 24, 2012) - Berkeley Research Group, a leading global expert services and consulting firm, has expanded its Canadian presence with an office in Calgary, Alberta. Joining BRG's Calgary office are principal Rick Moffat, managing consultant John Baxter, and consultant Kathy Thompson, members of the firm's Global Construction practice.

Mr. Moffat specializes in providing consultation on construction projects in the areas of project risk management, scheduling, cost, and delay and disruption, as well as other project management and dispute resolution concerns, on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and institutional endeavors, including fast track and troubled projects.

Mr. Baxter has over 10 years experience in heavy civil and building construction with projects ranging from oil and gas civil projects in Alberta and British Columbia to remote northern Canadian infrastructure construction projects and urban city specialized building projects such as hospitals and data centers. His expertise includes skills related to project management such as project costing, scheduling, and design development. 

Ms. Thompson has more than a decade of experience as a construction progress analyst for the purposes of project performance monitoring and claims preparations. Her main areas of expertise include schedule maintenance, as-built schedule creation, document and data collection analysis, and organization. She has worked on several large industrial and commercial projects in Canada and the United States.

Professor Waverman was on the Advisory Committee introducing Competition in Ontario's Electricity system, a part-time board member of the Ontario Energy Board and the Ontario Telephone Service Commission, and a member of the U.S. National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) for six years. He also edited the Energy Journal, the major journal in energy economics, for six years.
