Corvirtus Customers Receive Noteworthy Ratings in Consumer Reports Survey of 102 Table-Service Restaurant Chains

Abuelo's, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Houlihan's and BRAVO! Cucina Italiana Got High Marks From 47,500 Readers in Taste, Service, Mood and Value


COLORADO SPRINGS, CO--(Marketwire - Sep 25, 2012) -  For its closely followed biannual survey, Consumer Reports obtained ratings from more than 47,500 readers on 102 table-service restaurant chains, ranging from high-end restaurants such as McCormick & Schmick's to family restaurants such as Friendly's. Scores were based on four categories: taste, service, mood and value. Four Corvirtus customers -- Abuelo's, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Houlihan's and BRAVO! Cucina Italiana -- achieved particularly high ratings in their respective market segments.

  • For the third time in a row, Abuelo's, which operates 41 restaurants in 15 states, was rated as the nation's top Mexican restaurant chain. Abuelo's has been a Corvirtus customer since 2008. Corvirtus applications, assessments and interview guides are used by all of the company's restaurants. Abuelo's also uses a customized Hiring Tracker platform for all levels of management hiring across the company. 

  • Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was a close second in the steakhouse category. Corvirtus worked with the Ruth's Chris executive team to create the company's vision document, called "The Sizzle," on which customized management selection and interviewing tools are based. Corvirtus also works with the Mitchell's Fish Market, another concept owned by the company, to develop hiring tools and processes unique to its brand. 

  • Operating 82 restaurants in 18 states, Houlihan's placed a close third out of 22 chains in the pub style/grill category. A Corvirtus customer since 2009, Houlihan's was the first company to adopt an online hiring system for managing employee assessments, based on Corvirtus' unique organizational personality scan.   • BRAVO! Cucina Italiana was one of nine chains recognized for across-the-board high marks in all categories. The restaurant company also placed second in the Italian restaurant category. Owned by Bravo Brio, BRAVO! Cucina Italiana uses Corvirtus customized interview guides to help hiring managers select employees with a predisposition to service.
