Fortune 500 Corporate Directors Named to 2012 NACD Directorship 100

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced the 2012 NACD Directorship 100, the most influential leaders in the boardroom and corporate governance community. This year's honorees include corporate directors and governance professionals who demonstrate a long-term commitment for exemplary board leadership and leading practices in the boardroom.

The 2012 NACD Directorship 100 recognizes leading corporate directors and governance advocates in 13 categories: academics, attorneys, audit and risk professionals, board advisors, compensation experts, crisis communications experts, governance advisors, investors, media, members of the plaintiffs' bar, policy advisors, recruiters, and regulators and rulemakers.

The methodology to determine the NACD Directorship 100 honorees includes a review of quantitative results from an NACD Directorship survey of NACD members, peer input from NACD chapters, review by an editorial advisory board for each of the more than 1,000 nominations and then these names are submitted for final approval to the NACD Board of Directors.
