British Airways Launches Bonus Avios Offer

Executive Club Members Earn 100,000 Avios on Three Roundtrip Flights

NEW YORK, Sept. 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- British Airways has launched a special Executive Club promotion – allowing travelers to earn 100,000 Avios on three flights – with the ability to earn 50,000 Avios for every flight after that, meaning the more you fly the more you earn!

Avios is the shared currency reward for British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus following the merger between the two airlines.

US and Canadian Executive Club members may register online at www.ba.com/earnmoreavios. Executive Club members can earn the 100,000 miles over three flights*:

1st roundtrip qualifying flight: earn 15,000 Avios

2nd roundtrip qualifying flight: earn 35,000 Avios

3rd roundtrip qualifying flight: earn 50,000 Avios

And beyond: earn 50,000 Avios for each qualifying flight

There is no limit on how many times members can earn the bonus Avios.

Following the acquisition of bmi by International Airlines Group (IAG), British Airways will operate 16% more flights this winter – and to an additional 20 destinations, including Dublin, Belfast, Amman, Beirut and Freetown. In December 2012, services to Seoul, South Korea will begin.

"This is a great opportunity for our Executive Club members to earn more Avios. British Airways has a great winter schedule, flying to 20 additional destinations and operating our biggest Heathrow schedule. Together with our joint business partners, American Airlines, Iberia and OpenSkies, they can travel to even more destinations", says John McDonald, Vice President Marketing for British Airways.

*The Avios bonus is for US and Canadian Executive Club members travelling on qualifying, roundtrip transatlantic flights operated and marketed by British Airways, American Airlines, Iberia or OpenSkies booked in flexible/non-restricted World Traveller economy or higher fares for travel completed by January 31, 2013. Pre-travel registration required.
