Publishers Clearing House Launches Second "The Give Back" Charity Event on Facebook

PCH Facebook Fans Vote to Decide How $100,000 Will Be Awarded to Three Charities

PORT WASHINGTON, NY--(Marketwire - Oct 9, 2012) - Publishers Clearing House (PCH), widely known as a leader in multi-channel direct marketing, today announced the launch of the second charitable giving program called "The Give Back." First launched in 2011, "The Give Back" is a charity-based Facebook campaign where the fans are put in control. From October 9 through November 5, fans of the PCH Fan Page on Facebook will have the opportunity to vote once a day for one of three charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®). In the end, over $100,000 will be awarded: $50,000 to the first-place charity, and $35,000 and $25,000 to the second and third place charities respectively.

"Our founders established a heritage of charitable giving that continues on more than 50 years after the company was started," said Deborah Holland, executive vice president of PCH. "Today our customers and entrants enjoy interacting with the PCH brand on Facebook and 'The Give Back' is a perfect way for us to engage them as well as raise awareness for three important causes. This program puts our community in control of an impactful decision, and will be a lot of fun for everyone who gets involved."

Details on the three charities that PCH has chosen to be a part of "The Give Back" 2012 are:

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's lifesaving mission is to find cures for children battling cancer and other deadly diseases, and thanks to donations, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything. St. Jude founder Danny Thomas believed that "no child should die in the dawn of life."

Susan G. Komen For The Cure - Susan G. Komen works to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 30 countries.

The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) - is the first animal welfare organization in North America and works to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals. The ASPCA is a national leader in the areas of anti-cruelty, community outreach and animal health services.

After the voting period ends, the Prize Patrol will embark on "The Give Back" charity tour on November 8 to deliver big checks to each of the charities. Since the vote tally will not be shown throughout the campaign, it will truly be a "Prize Patrol surprise" for all three charities.

"Our jobs are to help make dreams come true, and we work hard to do this every single day," said Danielle Lam of the PCH Prize Patrol. "To be able to do this for charities helping those in need is truly amazing. But we also know how much our fans love to win, so we're sweetening the deal and giving away a $500 cash prize every time we hit 5,000 votes. Basically, the more votes we get, the more money we'll be giving away to fans!"

Fans can vote and enter the cash sweepstakes once a day on the PCH Fan Page.
