The Washington DC metropolitan area came out on top with the most Inc. 500 companies at 52, followed by New York City's 39, and Los Angeles' 32.
Despite one of the most stagnant economic periods in recent memory, MBP and other Inc. 5000 companies continue to grow showing an uptick in economic growth. The median 2012 revenue of the Inc. 500 was $8.9 million.
