Super Lawyers Lists Three Attorneys at The Wagner Law Group


BOSTON, Oct. 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wagner Law Group announces that the Managing Director and two of its top lawyers were selected for both the prestigious 2012 Massachusetts Super Lawyers and the New England Super Lawyers lists. The coveted Super Lawyers lists select outstanding lawyers based on a multi-phased selection process, which includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

The three lawyers are Marcia Wagner, Russell Gaudreau and John Keegan. Ms. Wagner is the Managing Director of The Wagner Law Group. She specializes in ERISA/Employee Benefits law. She has been on the Super Lawyers list since 2005. In 2008, she was appointed for a three-year term to the IRS Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Governmental Entities; she chaired the Employee Benefits subcommittee in the final year of her appointment. She was invited to join the Legg Mason Retirement Advisory Council along with a number of other leaders in the retirement industry.

Ms. Wagner was also named one of Boston's Best Lawyers by The Boston Globe and Boston.com, and Top 10 Corporate Lawyers by Boston Women's Business Journal and The Boston Herald. Mr. Gaudreau, who has been with the firm since 2009, is responsible for a wide variety of issues with respect to qualified retirement plans, tax-sheltered annuities, nonqualified deferred compensation, split-dollar life insurance arrangements and executive compensation. His name has appeared on the Super Lawyers List since 2004. He is a member of the faculty at the Georgetown University Law Center and Boston University School of Law. He is also the founder and director of the New England Employee Benefits Council, an organization that promotes discussion, networking and informational exchange among the region's employee benefits practitioners.

Mr. Keegan joined the firm in 2003. He is responsible for issues including qualified retirement plans, tax-sheltered annuities, nonqualified deferred compensation, VEBAs, welfare plans, split-dollar life insurance arrangements and executive compensation.
