Herbert Smith Freehills Installs Relativity in Their Australian Offices

Leading International Law Firm Selects Relativity for e-Discovery in Australia

CHICAGO and SYDNEY, Australia, Oct. 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- kCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today announced that Herbert Smith Freehills has purchased a license to install Relativity in-house to support their Australian Information Logistics services.

As a fully featured, web-based e-discovery platform, Relativity allows users to create and automate custom workflows, make use of a complete set of text analytics capabilities including computer-assisted review, and build custom applications within the software to manage and search all types of case-related data and information.

"Building custom workflows in Relativity will allow our Australian legal teams to strategize earlier and more efficiently," said Alan Peckham, chief knowledge officer at Herbert Smith Freehills. "We're excited to evolve Relativity to meet our changing needs. For us, Relativity will not be a standstill product; we will continue to build on it to support our Australian operations."

While Herbert Smith Freehills's Australian team will make use of Relativity's APIs to build custom applications that extend the software's functionality, they'll also take advantage of the integrations that connect third-party software to Relativity—allowing the firm to create an end-to-end e-discovery solution from best-in-breed solutions.

"Relativity has a very intuitive interface and provides significant flexibility. It's also easy to support," said Gary Adler, head of IT, Australia at Herbert Smith Freehills. "Beyond the software, the team behind Relativity has exceeded our expectations. Their support and willingness to talk and plan with our technology partners will allow us to make sure we're getting everything right."

"We are excited that such a prestigious global law firm like Herbert Smith Freehills chose Relativity to help solve the e-discovery challenges of their Australian client base," said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. "It's great to see them looking toward the future and taking full advantage of Relativity as a platform."
