USHCC Congratulates Crescent Dairy and Beverages for Recent $30 Million Dollar Investment in New U.S. Facility

WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) today commended Crescent Dairy and Beverages LLC for its recent announcement of a $30 million investment for a new facility in Colleton County, South Carolina. The new ultra pasteurized beverage processing facility will create new, American jobs throughout the country.

"Crescent Dairy and Beverages has made an excellent decision to establish operations in Colleton County," said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. "With this investment, Crescent Dairy and Beverages' new state-of-the-art facility will create good American jobs at a time when so many in our country are still looking for work. It serves as a tremendous example of Hispanic entrepreneurship and the partnership possibilities with our friends in Latin America."

Crescent Dairy & Beverages LLC is a newly formed U.S. entity that represents a Latin American Foreign Direct Investment initiative whose production of the first few years will be mainly for export to the Americas. This venture was procured and consolidated thanks to the international trade promotion efforts of USHCC's International Committee Chair and board member, Mr. Gabriel Pascual. "We are convinced that South Carolina and Colleton County will offer a secure business environment that will guarantee solid progress which will contribute to Crescent's regional expansion", said Pascual whom is also Crescent's representative. "This venture is clear evidence that Hispanics today not only migrate to the US, but also bring funding to create enterprise, jobs and exports for America" he added.

"Foreign direct investment will play a major role in growing the American economy over the next several years," stated USHCC Chairman of the Board Marc Rodriguez. "By creating a business-friendly environment here in the states and fostering Latin American partnerships that are mutually beneficial, we know that there are countless opportunities for creating American jobs and supporting local communities."

The USHCC applauds the state of South Carolina for recruiting nearly $300 million in capital investments and 1,400 agribusiness jobs over the past two years. Utilizing initiatives to promote business investments across the United States will be crucial for immediate and long-term economic growth, and the USHCC will continue to support the proactive recruiting of foreign direct investment by states like South Carolina.
