CHA Names Susan Turchick VP of Membership

Former Crafter's Home President to Oversee CHA's Focus on Independent Retailers and Manufacturers


ELMWOOD PARK, N.J., Nov. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) today announced the appointment of Susan (Sue) Turchick as Vice President of Membership. Sue's appointment brings to the CHA executive team almost three decades of diversified business and leadership experience, including 12 years as an independent craft retailer.

Sue had a long and distinguished career in accounting and financial services with 16 years of varied positions including Division Manager in Wells Fargo's Corporate Trust Services Department and as a Certified Public Accountant. For the past 12 years she has been successfully running an independent scrapbook store called Scrapbooks Too in Bloomington, Minnesota. Since 2008, Sue simultaneously ran her business and served as President of Crafter's Home, a buying group of over 100 paper crafting stores. Sue's proven track record of membership building and proving membership value at Crafter's Home will be a great asset for the industry and CHA.

In addition to scrapbooking, art journaling, and card making, Sue enjoys motorcycle riding, traveling, reading, and singing four part harmony with the City of Lakes Sweet Adelines Chorus.  Sue holds a B.S.B.A in Accounting and Economics from the Clarion University of Pennsylvania and lives in Apple Valley, Minnesota with her husband and son.  Sue's start date at CHA is January 2, 2013.
