WASHINGTON, Nov. 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) recently honored Ronald G. Miller, Director of Business Operations at Dyess AFB, with the "Standard of Excellence" award. The prestigious award recognizes Mr. Miller's dedication in ensuring that designated and small businesses, including Hispanics firms, are afforded opportunities for contracts with federal agencies.

The announcement was made during the Chamber Awards Breakfast at the 33rd Annual USHCC National Convention in Los Angeles, CA.

"We are proud to recognize Mr. Miller as an individual who understands and promotes the importance of minority business participation in Federal contracting," said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. "This award highlights the importance one person can make in providing access and opportunity to the small businesses that are actively driving the recovery of our American economy."

Mr. Miller has been at Dyess more than 25 years and currently oversees a team of 35 civilians, officers and Airmen. He is responsible for activities including Small Business programs, construction and service contracts in support of operations and maintenance. Through his efforts with the Small Business Administration (SBA) he develops and implements source lists that provide opportunities for small businesses while enhancing competitive acquisitions.

"While we often focus on the successes of our chambers and business owners, it is critical to call special attention to the individuals and organizations that make a concerted effort to support their growth. We thank Ronald Miller, and others like him, for their dedication to small business firms."
