In contract negotiations with its employees in the London Thrift Store, the Salvation Army has demanded a three year wage freeze. Yet, when the employees asked if the same terms would also apply to the management staff, the Employer refused to respond.
Many of the employees in London are already part of the working poor and are relying on food banks and the gracious help of family and friends just to survive. SEIU Local 2, the workers' union, says Salvation Army employees simply want to be treated with dignity, respect, and economic fairness.
