The annual list recognizes the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that do the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus. Now in its fourth year, the list was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 VA-approved schools nationwide by Victory Media, a media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life.

As a member of the Service members Opportunity Colleges Consortium (SOC), Ecotech follows the American Council for Education (ACE) Guide for recommendations for the award of transfer credit for military training and/or experience.
