Smart Card Alliance Wraps Up 2012 with Release of E-Yearbook

Comprehensive review of smart card industry activity in 2012, supporting EMV, NFC, transit, healthcare, identity management and access security

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Dec. 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- From the announcements detailing EMV roadmaps and mobile payment pilots to the advancement of open transit payments and Internet security and mobile identity initiatives, 2012 has been a landmark year for the North American and Latin American smart card industry. To communicate these advances in smart card adoption and recognize the contributions of its 200+ members during 2012, the Smart Card Alliance has issued today its second annual "E-Yearbook."

The E-Yearbook, available on the Smart Card Alliance website, captures the essence of a year's worth of leadership in education and support of the smart card industry.   It includes more than 70 graphically-designed color pages containing industry briefs, perspectives, insights and company profiles from smart card industry leaders across a broad spectrum of markets and technologies - including year-end reviews by: Smart Card Alliance Executive Director Randy Vanderhoof; Latin America Associate Director Edgar Betts; the six industry council chairs; and Willy Dommen, senior manager, Accenture and chairman of the board of directors.

"We have filled the 2012 E-Yearbook with content on the advances across many markets in the smart card industry, as well as a recap of the productive year for our members who contribute their resources and expertise to the Smart Card Alliance," said Vanderhoof.  "The E-Yearbook is a great way for anyone interested in smart card industry activities and accomplishments to catch up or get introduced to the Smart Card Alliance and its programs."

Some of the notable content through the E-Yearbook include:
