Ragnar Relay Series Announces Partnership With Nuun Electrolyte Drinks

KAYSVILLE, Utah, Dec. 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ragnar Relay Series, one of the fastest growing endurance races across the United States, today announced the addition of Nuun, the first company to separate electrolyte replacement from carbohydrates in a sports drink, as the official sports performance drink of the Ragnar Relay Series through 2014.

Seattle-based Nuun is the number one selling sports tab in the running, cycling and outdoor specialty marketplace, known for its self-dissolving, sugar-free electrolyte tab that has revolutionized the sports drink.

Participants in upcoming Ragnar Relay Series events will see Nuun products throughout each event, including product samples at start and finish line areas, signage throughout the course, and ongoing presence throughout RagnarRelay.com. Additionally, Nuun will provide regular hydration tips on "Blognar," the official blog of Ragnar Relay Series.

As part of the partnership, Ragnar Relay Series and Nuun will also partner on a national contest tied to Ragnar's season opener in the Florida Keys in early January. Hosted on Ragnar's Facebook page beginning December 19, 2012, the contest will allow running enthusiasts to enter for a chance to win a free team to the 2014 Ragnar Relay Florida Keys, a consistent sell-out Ragnar.

"Nuun has established itself as the premiere sports hydration drink of choice for endurance athletes in the running and cycling industry," said Dave Klewan, vice president of corporate partnerships at Ragnar Relay Series. "To have them on board for the next two years is a great fit for our runners and our overall brand."

"We look forward to hydrating Ragnarians across the country", said Mason Reay, CEO of Nuun. "The Ragnar races have become destination events for runners. Having participated in Ragnar relays ourselves, the team environment creates a unique running experience that we are excited to be a part of."

Other Ragnar Relay Series national sponsors include Petzl, Clif Bar, SweatVac, Monster Beverages, Nuun and Scott James Jewelers. To learn more about the Ragnar Relay, visit www.ragnarrelay.com
