SaskCentral Appoints New CEO


REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Jan. 14, 2013) - A new Chief Executive Officer has been appointed for the trade association and umbrella organization for Saskatchewan's 55 credit unions.

The Board of Directors of SaskCentral is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Nixon the new CEO of SaskCentral.

Mr. Nixon has been the interim CEO since September 10. Prior to that, he was the Executive Vice-President, Corporate and Community Affairs and Corporate Secretary.

Keith Nixon has 30 years of experience contributing to the Saskatchewan credit union system through various positions.

Biography

Keith Nixon, CEO

Keith Nixon has 30 years of experience contributing to the Saskatchewan credit union system through various positions.

Nixon began employment with SaskCentral in January, 1987, as Junior Analyst, Data Processing Micro Development, following various progressive positions held with Saskatchewan credit unions including Trainee/Teller, Loans Officer/Manager and Branch Manager.

In May, 2002, Nixon engaged in the position of Executive Vice-President, Corporate and Community Affairs and Corporate Secretary, with SaskCentral, following progressive positions through a management services arrangement with the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation and with SaskCentral Government and Public Affairs.

As Executive Vice-President, Corporate and Community Affairs and Corporate Secretary, Nixon provided overall leadership and strategic direction to management and support of SaskCentral's democratic systems, structure and processes ensuring effective, efficient and affordable corporate and credit union system governance. He was also responsible for leadership and support of SaskCentral's government relations program, credit union governance & compliance support, SaskCentral marketing and communications and acted as SaskCentral's privacy officer.

In September 2012, Nixon stepped in as interim CEO of SaskCentral.

Nixon has achieved various professional development, technical and administrative courses, seminars and programs including a Certificate in Administration from the University of Regina and a Fellows designation from the Credit Union Institute of Canada.

In addition to employment responsibilities with SaskCentral, Nixon serves on volunteer boards of the Ignite Adult Learning Corporation Foundation and Sherwood Co-operative Association Limited.
