Auria Asadsangabi, University of Tennessee Freshman Class of 2016 President, to Participate in East Tennessee's Children's Hospital's "Dancing With the Knoxville Stars" Fundraising Event


KNOXVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - Feb 18, 2013) -  Auria Asadsangabi, class president of the 2016 freshman class at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has announced that he will be participating behind the scenes of the East Tennessee's Children's Hospital's "Dancing with the Knoxville Stars" fundraising event on February 22nd. Asadsangabi previously volunteered for East Tennessee's Children's Hospital on their telethon fundraising event in October of 2012.

"Dancing with the Knoxville Stars" is an annual East Tennessee's Children's Hospital fundraising event, pairing Knoxville celebrities with local dance instructors from Academy Ballroom. Money is generated from tickets to the event, as well as an online donation system where interested parties vote for their favorite dancing couple.

Auria Asadsangabi demonstrated drive and initiative at an early age, holding his first summer internship at the age of 16 at the Law Offices of Luvell Glanton, a personal injury attorney in Nashville, Tennessee. Auria was invited to a second internship with Mr. Glanton following his graduation from Brentwood High School in spring of 2012.

During his freshman semester in the fall of 2012 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Auria Asadsangabi served as the president of his freshman class while maintaining an "A" GPA. At this time, Auria joined the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and, in his second semester, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars -- a national non-profit academic honor society.

Through his membership with Sigma Phi Epsilon, Auria Asadsangabi received executive board officer training at the Carlson Leadership Academy in Atlanta, Georgia in February 2013 and was elected Vice President of the Balanced Man Scholarship Committee for spring of 2013.

Auria Asadsangabi demonstrated an enthusiasm for humanitarian efforts by donating his time and energy to the Edge Leadership Program, a non-profit mentoring organization for 500 underprivileged urban elementary school, high school, and college students in Crossville, Tennessee in October of 2012. Asadsangabi was also an instrumental part of the East Tennessee Children's Hospital Telethon Fundraising Event that same month.

"Dancing with the Knoxville Stars" will take place on February 22nd at 7pm at the Knoxville Expo Center, 5441 Clinton Highway.

Auria Asadsangabi will graduate from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in spring of 2016.
