Upscale Craft Beer Bar Adds Food Menu With Opening of its First Corporate Location

The Brass Tap Brings Live Music and New Food Options to Future Tampa Unit

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Brass Tap has built a reputation and following based on its unmatched selection of craft beers, live music and unique culture. This May, the Florida-based franchise is introducing another element sure to add to its appeal – specialty food items. The newest location in Tampa will be the brand's first corporately owned bar and will serve as a testing site for future units.

The culinary component marks a first in the history of the franchise and is designed to complement the extensive list of more than 300 craft beers. The Brass Tap's menu will include a mix of gourmet items including a variety of grilled panini sandwiches, pretzels, individual pizzas and gourmet stuffed burgers.

"The menu rollout is part of our ongoing mission to expand the brand's appeal and make The Brass Tap a go-to nightlife destination," said James Walker, Chief Development Officer for The Brass Tap. "We opened two new locations in Florida this month and are continuing to grow the brand with the evolution of the craft beer industry and consumer tastes."

Founded in 2008, the fast growing concept has been touted for its unique experience and undeniable culture. The newest unit of the Tampa-based franchise will be located at 10019 North Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood.

"Through our existing locations and extensive research, we've discovered that Florida taste buds are rapidly evolving. Tampa beer drinkers are expanding their palates and becoming more educated about the craft beer industry and the hundreds of varieties and options that are available," says Jeff Martin, founder of The Brass Tap.

The Brass Tap will highlight local craft breweries through different promotions and tasting events and in addition to a spacious outdoor patio and big screen TVs, will rotate its taps regularly and make hundreds of different bottled beers available for carry-out.

The new Brass Tap is part of a much larger mission to more than quadruple the number of existing units over the next several years. To date, executives with The Brass Tap have sold 14 additional territories set to open by 2014.

In addition to its distinctive beer and wine offerings, the new unit should be well-received in Tampa because of the boost it'll bring to the local economy. This location will require 2,000 to 3,000 square feet and will create 10 to 20 new jobs.

In June 2012, Beef 'O' Brady's, the 213-unit franchise of family sports pubs and restaurants, acquired the rights to franchise The Brass Tap. Prospective franchise owners will be able to leverage Beef 'O' Brady's strong franchise team and deep resources within the restaurant and franchise industry.
