Retriever Communications Expands US Mobile Application Development Scalability Through Partnership With Rural Sourcing Inc.

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Feb 26, 2013) - Retriever Communications, a global provider of mobile field force automation, today announced an agreement with Rural Sourcing Inc. (RSI) to help scale the company's mobile enterprise applications in the US. RSI is the leader in domestic sourcing, a cost-effective onshore alternative to the traditional model for IT outsourcing. Under the terms of the agreement, RSI will be trained in Retriever's Application Development Environment (RADE) to support Retriever's customer projects in the United States.

In addition, Retriever is also announcing a fast prototyping capability within its established RADE development tool kit. This tool allows business analysts with IT understanding but no coding experience to develop a working application prototype in only a few days. This prototype can be deployed on any mainstream mobile device using Windows, iOS or Android as a native application. Once the prototype has internal business signoff, Retriever and RSI efficiently complete the coding development work and ensure high quality assurance. This breakthrough model allows IT and business units to get critical business applications out quickly for discussion with almost no overhead in learning new tools. The tool is free to customers and available February 25.

"Retriever splits the prototyping from the scripting of an application within the same tool, breaking the lengthy waterfall development approach seen in enterprise mobile applications today," said Mary Brittain-White, CEO of Retriever Communications. "Combined with our industrial-strength mobile platform, this approach ensures a user-centric application that guarantees reliability in the field. We're delighted that RSI's substantial US resources will ensure a fast, quality turn-around from prototype to production, to enable our continued global growth and implementation cost-effectively."

"From the first point of contact with Retriever Communications, we knew there was a great cultural fit between our companies. It didn't take much explaining before they understood and embraced our model and what our purpose is as a company," said Monty Hamilton, CEO of Rural Sourcing, Inc. "Having Retriever select RSI as their partner for this project is a true testament to superior level of service and our competitive pricing on US soil. I am excited about our future together and about our role in dramatically growing the US domestic sourcing market."

Retriever's technology:
Retriever delivers under both software licensing and cloud models. Its Mobile Enterprise Application Platform (MEAP) has a unique write-once, deploy natively approach. It delivers a full native app experience, corporate level security, both complex and simple app functionality and the ability to work out of coverage. The company's mobile app development toolkit enables application developers to build a native app once and deploy it to all mobile devices and tablets running Windows, iOS or Android while also allowing developers to integrate device-specific capabilities, such as GPS, barcode readers, built-in cameras and RFID scanners into the application.
