2013 Vintners' Festival: 50+ Varietals - Taste the Diversity.....

SANTA YNEZ, Calif., March 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 50+ varietals of outstanding quality need to be experienced! Thirty plus years of growing and experimenting to bring out the best of each varietal are being showcased as living proof of the quality of excellence in farming and expressive winemaking.  With over one hundred wineries and vineyards the Santa Barbara County Vintners' Festival is the opportunity to learn by tasting and hearing the vintners' trials and triumphs in producing the wine brought for the visitor to experience.  A true appreciation for the varietals will be gained by actually tasting the range of varietals produced in the current AVA's (Happy Canyon, Santa Maria, Sta. Rita Hills & Santa Ynez).  Each AVA is unique in soil composition and microclimate, thereby producing uniqueness in its fruit.  Our festival showcases the diversity of our wine region in "Live Action"…" We invite the visitor to actively participate in this "live" tasting experiment in the City of Solvang and the beautiful grounds of the mission in an annual rite of spring," says Jim Fiolek, Executive Director of the Association.

With dozens of the finest area food establishments alongside the wineries, the visitor's palate experiences the ultimate in taste sensations with the pairing of exquisite wine and food.  We can talk, write, and show pictures/videos about our diversity…It is in tasting the wine that the understanding and character of the grape is revealed to an individual.
