CTC to Provide Support Across Five Business and Academic Categories

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., March 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation has been named one of seven awardees on a contract awarded by GSA FAS Pacific Rim Region supporting the National Defense University (NDU). The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract includes a base year and two option years, worth an aggregate of $18 million.

The CTC team is comprised of four small businesses and one large business (in addition to CTC). The team will assist NDU in the areas of programmatic support, academic support, research and analysis support, event support, and unclassified and classified information sharing. Through this contract, the CTC team will provide a variety of expertise, from advising faculty and staff about the latest technological advances and learning methodologies to developing innovative technologies for greater information availability.

"This is a significant win for CTC," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President & Chief Executive Officer. "Since 1999, CTC has supported NDU in the adoption and implementation of many of the advanced learning and human performance solutions that are still being used today. This contract allows us to continue to support the NDU, which is the premier institution for Joint Professional Military Education under the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff.  NDU's mission is to prepare and support national security leaders through teaching, research, and applied learning, and CTC is honored to assist in the training of our nation's future leaders."

Colonel (Retired) David A. Kingston, Director of Learning and Human Performance at CTC, serves as the Program Manager of the contract. He is intimately familiar with military education—he holds a Bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master's degree in Strategic Planning from the U.S. Army War College, and has served in command and staff assignments in both Army and Joint commands in an Army career spanning over 29 years.

In addition to Colonel (Retired) Kingston, CTC is providing an Advisory Board that consists of Vice Admiral (Retired) Mike Bucchi, Major General (Retired) Bob Heine, Major General (Retired) Fred Roggero, Brigadier General (Retired) Steve Curry, and former Senior Executive Staff Alfred League, to provide strategic guidance and advice in the execution of the contract.

"I am proud and humbled to be associated with the members of our Advisory Board, as well as all of our former military personnel and technical experts that will support this effort," stated Colonel Kingston. "We know the importance that military education and intelligence plays in the battlefield and on the home front—there is nothing more critical and nothing we rely on more than our knowledge. CTC is honored to have been chosen as one of the awardees on this contract, and we look forward to working with NDU for many years to come."
