Ogren Group Sees Strong Resurgence in NAC Market

STOW, Mass., March 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Ogren Group, an industry analyst and research firm serving security markets, today released its vendor market forecast and market analysis report, Network Access Control: A Strong Resurgence is Underway.

"The NAC market has not only revived, but  is experiencing a strong resurgence," said Eric Ogren, president of the Ogren Group. "The NAC roots of segmenting guest and unhealthy endpoints from sensitive data are fueling growth along with BYOD and wireless initiatives plus demands for continuous endpoint compliance."

In the report, the Ogren Group estimates the market for Network Access Control products and services was $392 million in 2012 and predicts it will grow at a 22 percent CAGR to $1,061 million by 2017. Three vendors, Cisco, ForeScout and Juniper, represent more than 70 percent market share, which marks them as the clear leaders in the NAC market.

The modern generation of NAC practitioners profiled in the report has evolved beyond roles-based user and device authentication and guest management. It now includes pre- and post-connect features providing the real-time ability to assess, characterize and correct endpoint operating system and software configurations without adversely affecting operations. In addition to market leaders Cisco, ForeScout and Juniper, other vendors profiled in the report include Aruba, Bradford, StillSecure and TrustWave.
