Veolia Transportation Names Ryan Larsen President of IntelliRide Division

LOMBARD, Ill., April 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ryan Larsen has been named as President of Veolia's new IntelliRide division. The announcement was made this week by Veolia's CEO, Mark Joseph.

IntelliRide's mission is to improve the quality of paratransit, medical services and other shared ride human services, while reducing cost.  IntelliRide partners with transit authorities, human service agencies, and private health providers to seamlessly integrate classic ADA fleets and flexible fleets (taxis, vans, etc) and rigorously manage their performance.  IntelliRide utilizes innovative technology, business processes and real-time mobility management to bring clients increased accountability and service quality at a lower cost.

"Ryan has expertise in the paratransit, medical and human services transportation and innovative technology sectors that will enable us to offer our customers enhanced mobility management to improve quality and reduce costs, "said Joseph.  "He will build upon our company's decades of experience in improving the performance of shared ride services for clients and passengers. Ryan has a proven track record in building companies and we are confident he will make IntelliRide a thriving fourth division at Veolia Transportation."

As a 28-year transit veteran, Larsen has served in nearly every capacity in the transit industry, enabling him to garner unique insights on how transit and paratransit operations should be run.  His expertise and passion for blending paratransit operations with cutting edge technology is a great fit for Veolia's IntelliRide. Prior to joining Veolia, Larsen served as President of Ecolane, an innovative web-based software for managing paratransit. Larsen grew Ecolane to a multi-million dollar company in the US in just under 7 years.  His previous roles include President and founder of Local Motion ITS, Inc., and Vice President at DynTek.  Larsen has held many positions in transit including Service Lane Worker, Driver, Driver Trainer, Personnel Supervisor, Operations Superintendent, Paratransit Manager, Assistant General Manager and General Manager.  Larsen earned a BA in History and an MA in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa, is a member of the APTA Access Committee, and APTA Older Adults Transportation Subcommittee.
