New Book, 'Flirting with the Uninterested,' Takes Aim at Status Quo for Insurance & Financial Industry

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Apr 11, 2013) - A newly released book by Maria Ferrante-Schepis, "Flirting with the Uninterested," (www.flirtingwiththeuninterested.com), coauthored by G. Michael Maddock, points out the many flaws that so many know regarding the insurance and financial industry, yet very few are doing anything about.

"'Flirting with the Uninterested' is literally what the insurance and financial services industry executives and distributors are doing on a regular basis," says Ferrante-Schepis, who has more than 20 years as an executive in the insurance and financial services industry.

"If you are part of the industry and want to affect change, trying to affect change can be a little like dating in that the ones we want the most are those who care the least."

Rather than have outside sources shape the future of the industry, Ferrante-Schepis is encouraging leaders to embrace her "reinvent or be reinvented" message.

One example she cites is the Affordable Care Act, or "Obamacare" -- regardless of what you thought or how it is being implemented, when government steps in to "fix" a broken industry it is a sign that the consumer has been left out of the equation for way too long, she says.

"I finished this book in just three days. It's a must read if you are in business, but especially when you are involved with the financial services industry," writes Amazon reviewer Monika D'Agostino, who gave the book five out of five stars. "It challenges conventional thinking and helps the reader to look at opportunities where we usually see challenges. Maria's writing style is engaging and if you are in business you will find it an easy and thought provoking read."
