Session Features Leading Mobile Security Experts From the U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit and JPMorgan Chase to Discuss New Threat Vectors Facing the Mobile Banking/Financial Services Market

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwired - Apr 29, 2013) - Arxan Technologies, the leading provider of software security solutions that protects the global App Economy, announced today that Vince Arneja, Arxan's vice president of product management, will lead a panel session on emerging mobile application and risks in the banking and financial services market at the Financial Services - Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) & BITS Annual Summit 2013.

The FS-ISAC & BITS Annual Summit 2013 takes place April 29 - May 1, 2013 in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and brings together more than 500 information security professionals in the financial services market, providing an industry forum for collaboration on critical security threats facing the financial services sector.

Arneja will host the session, "Protect Your Mobile Banking and Financial Apps from Emerging Attacks," on April 30 at 11:30 a.m. ET. Panel participants include Scott Borg, director of the U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit, and Jim Routh, global head of application security, JPMorgan Chase.

Borg will discuss and provide attendees details on his latest research on current and future threats specific to the mobile platform. Routh will relate these risks to the financial services industry and explain how to enhance the app development process, distribution, and device configuration to build secure mobile applications. Arneja will lead the interactive discussion from three vantage points -- practitioner, industry expert and technology provider.

As mobile financial services evolve, they are susceptible to a set of emerging mobile application risks and attacks.

According to the "Proliferating Mobile Transaction Attack Vectors and What to Do About Them" March 2013 report by Gartner, "The means to commit mobile transaction fraud are rampant, although criminals have yet to develop pervasive exploits. Gartner believes that this situation will change dramatically in the next three years as more transactions are executed from mobile platforms." Gartner recommends to, "evaluate and use software that attempts to immunize the mobile application so that it can defend itself against tampering and criminal hacking."

Arxan's proven security for mobile, embedded, desktop and server computing environments protect financial services software with best of breed anti-tamper and anti-reverse engineering technology. The company's multi-layered and multi-platform protection consists of a variety of security technologies, including passive and active defenses such as: obfuscation, anti-debug, repair, self-healing and anti-tamper to ensure durability, resiliency and performance in the field.
