Cherokee Health Systems' CEO Dennis Freeman Opens With Keynote: "From Concept To Sustainability -- Making Integration Work"

GETTYSBURG, Pa., May 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OPEN MINDS has announced the faculty for The 2013 OPEN MINDS Planning & Innovation Institute. "We have health and human service leaders coming from across the country – thought leaders in planning best practices, in integrated service models, and in integrated care management models," said OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer Monica E. Oss. "This three-day intensive executive experience will provide management teams with the cutting-edge information they need to make their strategies a successful reality."

The institute will take place June 11-13, 2013 at the New Orleans Marriott, Canal Place in New Orleans, Louisiana. An impressive faculty will lead an agenda with presentations, interactive discussion sessions, subject matter expert panel discussions, and networking events.

The institute will kick off with an opening keynote session from Cherokee Health System's CEO, Dennis Freeman, Ph.D. Certified as both a community mental health center and a federally qualified health center, Cherokee provides comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, and prevention services to 60,000+ consumers annually. In the session, "From Concept To Sustainability — Making Integration Work," Dr. Freeman will discuss his organization's path to integration, the service delivery model they have created, how Cherokee works with payers under this model, and his advice for other provider organizations considering how to expand their practice into primary care.

In addition to Dr. Dennis Freeman, the institute faculty will include OPEN MINDS' team of experienced senior associates; representatives from provider organizations, payers, and state governments; and industry thought leaders from across the country. Session highlights include:
