NEW YORK, May 30, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mr. Kent was among 60 delegates from around the world invited to attend the Young Group of 8 (YG8) Summit held in London England on May 11 – 13, 2013. The YG8 delegates represented over 20 countries and 6 continents including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.
The Group focuses on global change associated with increasing social and economic challenges fostering the values of freedom, democracy, education, peace and long term economic stability and development. The young subset of the G20 conforms to the principles of a truly global network of nations united, which lives up to and exemplifies the guiding principles of the United Nations at its formation.
The three day agenda of the Summit focused on: Global Entrepreneurship & Youth Unemployment, Energy Dilemma/Supply for All, and the Impact of Austerity. The young and up-coming YG8 contingent consists of the next generation of global leaders in business, politics, philanthropy and policy. The forum is provided to give a voice to these young leaders to bring new ideas into reality.
The broad objective of the YG8 is to build and engage the leaders of tomorrow to help one another achieve a better world in which we live. These like-minded global innovators and change makers will collaborate to address the challenges of today and tomorrow. The young group was formulated with the realization that every human being carries within them the inherent ability to create and change the world, which is the hallmark of every leader throughout history.
The YG8's Communiqué is a brief report and statement that is released and formally presented from the host country's government at the closing session of the Summit. In the week following, the Communiqué is delivered to members of the government from each of the G8 countries by the YG8 Chairs and shared with members of the press in each country.
