Phoenix, Arizona, UNITED STATES

PHOENIX, June 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP, www.aesp.org) announced today that Puget Sound Energy and Seattle City Light will serve as utility co-hosts for AESP's fall conference in Seattle, Sept. 30–Oct. 2, 2013.

The AESP conference will gather leaders in the field of energy efficiency, demand-side management, behavior change and the Smart Grid. The conference titled "Tools & Technologies to Drive Program Participation" will educate attendees on changing consumer behavior; showcase the latest technologies; and share innovative approaches to the challenges facing energy efficiency professionals today.

"Our involvement in the AESP conference benefits our customers, as we seek to learn and share best practices on how to get customers to embrace energy efficiency practices and programs," said Bob Stolarski, director of energy efficiency at Puget Sound Energy. "Our efficiency programs are helping PSE customers conserve nearly 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and over 37 million therms of natural gas. We are eagerly anticipating sharing our experiences and learning new ideas that we will be able to implement."

Glenn Atwood, director of the conservation resources division at Seattle City Light, added, "This conference will draw expert energy efficiency practitioners from all over the country and we're pleased that AESP has chosen to host the conference in Seattle where we maintain the longest running conservation program in the nation. We're excited to have the opportunity to highlight efforts that have helped customers reduce their electricity consumption over the years by more than 18 billion kilowatt-hours. We look forward to exchanging information on innovative new initiatives in our industry with our peers."

"Having both of these premier organizations serve as co-hosts ensures that we will have a well-represented conference and it underscores our collaborative spirit and commitment to delivering highly valuable educational sessions and networking opportunities," said Meg Matt, president and CEO of AESP.

The AESP Fall Conference will take place Sept. 30- Oct. 2 at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue and is expected to draw over 300 energy efficiency professionals from the United States and Canada.  More information can be obtained from aesp.org.
