Sonabank Hires Director of Internal Audit


MCLEAN, Va., June 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Southern National Bancorp of Virginia, Inc. (Nasdaq:SONA) announced today that John Colantoni has joined its Sonabank subsidiary, as its Senior Vice President, Director of Internal Audit.

Colantoni is a CPA with over 33 years of auditing experience. From 1989 to 2013, Colantoni served as a Senior Audit Specialist at the FDIC, managing numerous audits pertaining to a wide range of programs and functions regarding the FDIC's regulatory responsibilities. His audits helped the FDIC to ensure data integrity, comply with laws and regulations, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its programs and functions.
