TEDxOrangeCoast Announces Ticket Sales, Speakers

Nobel Prize Winner, Guerilla Gardener and Intel Science Talent Search Winner Just Three of This Year's Renowned Speakers

COSTA MESA, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 19, 2013) - TEDxOrangeCoast announced today that tickets are now on sale to the general public for its September 20-21 conference at Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. and shared information on three of the many speakers that will be featured. They are Dr. Kary Mullis, who received a Nobel Prize in chemistry for his invention of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR); Ron Finley, charismatic founder of L.A. Green Grounds, a volunteer organization that installs gardens in vacant, blighted lots; and high school senior Sara Volz who won the 2013 Intel Science Talent Search by demonstrating how to create biofuel from algae.

"These three speakers are representative of the caliber of presenters we have lined up this year," says TEDxOrangeCoast Executive Producer Mojdeh Eskandari. "We are fortunate to attract such renowned talent."

Indeed each of these speakers has been showered with media attention recently. Mullis showed up in this month's Boston Globe in a story about how Congress funds scientific research; Finley was profiled last month in The New York Times as a "pavement pounding Johnny Appleseed," and Volz was interviewed in this month's Popular Mechanics where she explained her award-winning research.
