Canopy Management ships milestone one million cases of wine

NAPA, Calif., June 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canopy Management, creator and owner of the wine trademarks Middle Sister, Purple Cowboy, pro-mis-Q-ous, Monogamy, Deep Purple, Haute Red, White Haute, Good Daughter and Slow Dancer has announced that the company has shipped its one-millionth case of wine.

Founded in 2008 by Terry Wheatley and Brian Wurtz, long-time wine industry veterans, the Canopy Management mission is to invent affordable, delicious wine brands that strike an emotional chord and build an authentic connection with consumers.

"We're thrilled to share the news of this achievement." said Brian Wurtz, President. "It would not have been possible without the efforts of our team, our production and trade partners and our friends, fans and loyal consumers."

The company, headquartered in Napa, California, launched with the brands Middle Sister and pro-mis-Q-ous.   Middle Sister, now featuring 14 varietals, is the portfolio flagship and winner of the Impact Hot Prospect Award three years running.   Pro-mis-Q-ous, and its sister wine, Monogamy, Purple Cowboy from Paso Robles, Deep Purple Zinfandel from Lodi, Wine Sisterhood, the Haute wines, Good Daughter and Slow Dancer complete the portfolio. The Middle Sister brand also features Ready-to-Drink cocktails, including a Margarita, Cosmo and Mojito, launched in 2012.

Canopy Management was an early adopter of social media in the wine category, using it to promote and build their brands and create one-on-one relationships with their consumers. Many product ideas are vetted within their social network, known as the "Wine Sisterhood" using the tools of social media. Consumer opinions and feedback is drawn from a base of almost 300,000 fans on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and You Tube. These opinions have influenced the creation of new products and enabled Canopy to bring those products to market with a loyal base poised to purchase, enjoy and tell their friends.

"I believe Canopy's use of social media has been one of the most powerful keys to our success." comments Terry Wheatley, founder and chief marketing officer. "It's allowed us to amplify our message extremely efficiently and enabled us to stand out in a highly competitive environment. We are looking forward to the future and the next one million cases!"
