Violin Memory Expands APAC Presence With Former Riverbed Technologies' Senior Vice President


MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 11, 2013) - Violin Memory, Inc., provider of memory-based storage systems, today announced John Higgs as Violin Memory's Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Asia Pacific region. Previously responsible for establishing and growing revenue and operations across APAC for Riverbed Technologies, Higgs will lead sales and operations in Asia Pacific for Violin Memory.

Higgs has more than three decades of experience in the networking industry and has worked exclusively in Asia for 27 years, holding positions in Japan and Singapore. Prior to joining Violin Memory, he served as the Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan at Riverbed Technologies where he increased revenues and accelerated operations across the region for more than eight years. Before that, Higgs built Cisco's sales and operations in South Asia. He also established Cray Communications in Japan in 1988, then Cabletron Systems in Asia in 1992.
