Atlantic Metro Completes SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type II Audit

Managed Infrastructure & Cloud Services Meet Strict Compliance Controls

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 18, 2013) -  Atlantic Metro Communications, a nationwide Managed Infrastructure as a Service Provider, today announced that the control procedures and compliance for 5 Cloud Infrastructure nodes, multiple Internet Data Centers facilities, and its Network Operations Center was verified in a Service Organization Control Report (SOC 1 Type II). This was completed under the terms of the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No 16 (SSAE 16) by independent auditing firm, The Moore Group.

"We're committed to service excellence by operating our Internet Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure nodes at a level that meets or exceeds the highest industry and regulatory standards," said Stephen Klenert, Chief Strategy Officer of Atlantic Metro Communications. "Assuring that our customers can count on us to comply with industry best practices across our managed service portfolio is a great accomplishment, and enables our customers to concentrate on growing their business, instead of worrying about compliance."

SSAE 16, developed by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, replaces the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70), the standard used for reviewing service organization control processes for nearly two decades. Atlantic Metro has received SAS 70 Type II assessments since 2008.

The Moore Group performed an independent audit and extensive testing of service control activities and effectiveness at all Atlantic Metro Cloud Infrastructure nodes, Internet Data Centers, and Network Operations Centers, with a full assessment of:

  • Oversight by Executive Management
  • Operations & Customer Service
  • Development & Information Technology Organization
  • Human Resources Policies & Procedures
  • Risk Assessment Monitoring

The SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type II was prepared using the "inclusive method" that incorporated reviews of relevant Atlantic Metro service partners, mitigating the need for Atlantic Metro's customers to collect additional compliance verifications.

"Not only do we want to provide customers with superior assurance and confidence in our operations, we want to eliminate the headache and worry about compliance. It's all part of our dedication to providing comprehensive solutions that are secure and reliable," said Stephen Klenert.
