Acquia Launches Digital Alliance to Provide Technology Ecosystem for Creating Next-Generation, Integrated Digital Experiences

Enterprise Software and Open Source Veteran Vincent Rerolle to Accelerate Technology Ecosystem Momentum

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2013) - Acquia, where great digital experiences begin, today launched its Digital Alliance program, bringing together digital marketing and infrastructure technology companies that provide a full range of digital skills and applications that build upon and integrate with the Acquia open cloud platform. Alliance members provide tools and applications that help organizations speed their digital innovation and empower marketers to develop innovative, integrated digital marketing solutions using best-of-breed applications.

Marketers will discover a wealth of shared resources and capabilities through the Digital Alliance program. Each company within the alliance provides key applications for creating next-generation digital experiences. Founding members of the Digital Alliance program include Akamai, Amazon, AppNeta, Alfresco, Badgeville, Blazemeter, Brightcove, Brow.si, Conductrics, Demandbase, Evergage, Gigya, Janrain, Jetbrains, KISSmetrics, Lingotek, Marketo, New Relic, OoyalaSugarCRM, and Wingify. Through open APIs and open source integrations, these alliance members create a best-of-breed ecosystem for digital marketers.

"Competitive advantage for marketers starts with innovation. Software suites stifle creative vision and lock companies into vendor timetables that can't deliver innovation at the pace that business requires," said Tom Erickson, Acquia CEO. "The Digital Alliance creates a powerful advantage for organizations to deploy the best apps and toolsets for their campaigns. Together, members of the Digital Alliance provide the tools and support needed to create great digital experiences for collaboration, online commerce and content sites in an open source way."

To help drive the Digital Alliance, Acquia has appointed enterprise software and open source veteran Vincent Rerolle as its new vice president of corporate development. In his role, Rerolle will drive the expansion of Acquia technology partnerships, helping grow the best-of-breed capabilities and advantages for integrated digital experiences. He was previously president of leading embedded Linux vendor MontaVista, and was also a general manager and vice president of corporate development at Wind River.

"Acquia is riding the innovation wave of open source trends in web content management through Drupal," Rerolle said. "By expanding the technology ecosystem of best-of-breed solutions that build upon Acquia's open cloud platform, we offer a tremendous alternative to entrenched legacy marketing suites. Through the Digital Alliance, customers have the freedom to create their own digital solutions and make the most of their technology investments."

The Digital Alliance provides a pathway to creating open digital solutions that take advantage of best-in-class products to power extraordinary digital experiences that enable deep engagement with customers, prospects and constituents. Strong integrations can be the difference for success in making digital a powerful asset for a business.

"Forrester's research finds that integrating WCM with other best-of-breed systems like eCommerce, analytics, marketing automation and email marketing is a high priority as firms source and build next-gen cross-channel marketing platforms," stated the April 2013 Forrester Research, Inc. report: 'The Forrester Wave™: Web Content Management For Digital Customer Experience, Q2 2013.' "Companies frequently tell us that they are committed to their previous investments in areas such as analytics, optimization, email campaigns and eCommerce and want their WCM systems to integrate with, not replace, their existing solutions."

"Marketers today need to be accountable for revenue and results. They want to launch great digital experiences and capture the customer activity so they can more effectively market across multiple channels and throughout the lifecycle of a customer. That's why an Acquia and Marketo joint solution just makes sense," said Robin Bordoli, vice president of strategic alliances, Marketo. "We're proud to be part of the Digital Alliance, further supporting the ecosystem that powers great digital marketing."

"We know that a successful content strategy requires great integrations with all of your content tools," said Jerome Agnola, senior director, business development at Alfresco. "Alfresco joined the Digital Alliance to further our commitment toward helping marketers develop holistic content strategies that span documents and the web. Strong integrations across digital solutions provide a great platform for business success."
