The Coca-Cola Company to Fund Annual Scholarship for the Women's Foodservice Forum Executive Leadership Program

DALLAS, Oct. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Women's Foodservice Forum (WFF) announced today a new scholarship sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company for high potential women in the food service industry. The annual Chris Lowe Scholars Award provides a $15,000 grant to an outstanding woman in the food service industry. The grant will cover attendance and accommodations to the WFF Executive Leadership Program.

The Coca-Cola scholarship honors Chris Lowe who recently retired from The Coca-Cola Company following a 23-year career that included serving nearly a decade as president of National Food Service and On-Premise for Coca-Cola Refreshments.

"Chris Lowe is a remarkable champion for women's leadership and development," said Kathleen Ciaramello, president, National Food Service & On-Premise, Coca-Cola Refreshments. "Through the Chris Lowe executive leadership scholarship we are honoring his legacy in a way that will continue to support the mission of WFF and Coca-Cola to advance women's leadership."

The Coca-Cola Company has set ambitious internal and external goals to advance women's leadership. The Coca-Cola Global Women's Initiative focuses on advancing women into leadership positions within the Company as well as enabling the economic empowerment of 5 million women entrepreneurs across its global value chain.

The WFF Executive Leadership Program is held annually during the WFF Executive Summit and biannually at the Kellogg School of Management's campus. The Chris Lowe executive leadership scholarship will be made available beginning in 2014 and applications will be available on the WFF website in November.
