The Kansas City Chiefs are a football club in the AFC West division of the National Football League (NFL). The franchise was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) in 1960, originally named the Dallas Texans. They relocated to Kansas City and changed their name in 1963 and have been there ever since. The Chiefs won 3 AFL championships before the AFL-NFL merger and appeared in two Super Bowls after the merger, winning the Super Bowl title in Super Bowl IV in 1970.
