Brentwood Dentist Now Offering Laser Dental Treatment

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Oct. 27, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brentwood dentist Dr. Kellye N. Rice announced that her dental practice, Cool Springs Laser Dentistry, is now offering laser dental care to treat cavities and tooth decay. Laser dentistry uses high-tech medical lasers to perform many of the same dental care procedures that previously required a dental drill. This non-invasive, pain-free alternative is just as effective as traditional dental care but does not require the drilling and needles of conventional dental care.

The dental drill is the most hated of medical devices. Now, with the help of laser technology, patients can bypass the dental drill and have tooth decay removed with high tech dental lasers.

Dental laser technology uses a light beam to cut away tooth decay prior to filling cavities. Using lasers minimizes pain associated with drill vibration and eliminates the need for numbing anesthetic prior to treatment. Brentwood dentist Dr. Kellye N. Rice, who been practicing dentistry for over 27 years, says the introduction of laser technology is a true game changer.

"Laser technology treatment is great for patients who are afraid of needles or drills," said Dr. Rice. "Laser dentistry is far less painful or invasive when compared with traditional dental treatments for cavities and tooth decay. We are excited to introduce this cutting-edge technology to our patients."

According to Dr. Rice, the newest dental lasers cut away decay at the same speed as drills, but without the pain that requires needle delivered anesthesia.

"Dental lasers are truly a breakthrough for patient care," said Dr. Rice. "There is no need for drilling, anesthetics or painful incisions."

Dr. Rice uses dental lasers to clean out tooth decay as part of root canal surgery. Rather than using on a drill to remove infected tooth pulp, a dental laser can effectively clean out the infected area without the need for anesthesia or drilling. Once the filling is in place, Dr. Rice will then use lasers to seal the filling.

"A majority of Americans suffer from some phobia or anxiety in conjunction with dental care," said Dr. Rice. "These fears can hold patients back from receiving much-needed dental exams and treatments. Thanks to laser dentistry, more patients are willing to seek care earlier and avoid serious oral health problems."

Dr. Rice trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. She has substantial experience using dental lasers to treat hard surface decay.

"My goal is to make dental care as pain-free and patient-friendly as possible," said Dr. Rice. "That helps people get needed treatment earlier which helps keep their mouths healthy. That's why our practice is excited to offer laser dentistry to our community."

Dr. Rice also offers gum disease treatment, Sleep Apnea options, TMJ treatment, cosmetic dentistry, and clear aligners for teeth straightening. Visit her website: http://www.kellyerice.com/ to learn more.
