kCura Releases Relativity 8.1

Newest Version of e-Discovery Platform Includes a Powerful Inventory Option for Filtering Data Prior to Processing, Improvements to Relativity Assisted Review and Analytics, and Enhancements That Address 35 Customer Requests

CHICAGO, Nov. 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- kCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today released Relativity 8.1. Relativity's second release this year was recently announced to 850 users at Relativity Fest in Chicago. The update introduces a new inventory option for gaining insight into and filtering data prior to processing, a number of performance gains—including 60 percent faster import speeds and end-to-end processing speeds that are almost twice as fast—and 35 of some of the most requested enhancements from Relativity users.

"Relativity 8.1 is packed with new features and we're excited to share the release with our users," said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. "The team has done a lot to improve core review functionality and has made major strides with our fully integrated processing engine—all while significantly improving performance in many areas of the software."

Highlights of Relativity 8.1 include updates to the following:

Processing

Processing is almost two times faster in Relativity 8.1. Additionally, inventory can extract a handful of metadata prior to processing for quick insight. An intuitive interface and easy-to-use filters then allow users to exclude obvious junk or irrelevant files before fully processing data into a review workspace.

Relativity Assisted Review and Analytics

A new report in Relativity Assisted Review provides a summary of each project's results and key statistics in one place. High-quality analytics indexes are easier to build, with a new option to automatically exclude poor example documents from training sets. Other enhancements include improved cluster titling and results, indexing that's twice as fast, and improved categorization speeds.

Workflow

Common workflows—including the use of search terms reports and quality control during imaging—are streamlined in Relativity 8.1, and new options for sampling documents and saving static lists offer more flexibility throughout a review project. Case administrators can restrict the download of native files by type, and preview user and group security settings with one click.

Performance

Import speeds in Relativity 8.1 have increased by 60 percent, and complex searches run 30 to 60 percent faster.

Platform

Updates to the platform include an improved REST API, coverage for dtSearch and analytics, improved Import API performance, several new event handler types, and an application uninstall option.
