Bureau Veritas expands in South Africa by acquiring
the Carab Tekniva Group

Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, December 2, 2013 - Bureau Veritas is pleased to announce the acquisition of Carab Tekniva Group. This group is a leader in Asset Integrity Management in South Africa and focuses on the steam generation, power, and petrochemical industries.

The Carab Tekniva Group offers unique solutions to help companies reduce their operating costs and increase their plants' reliability and availability. Their services include asset integrity management, reliability studies, project management, training and information technology solutions.

Located near Pretoria, the Carab Tekniva Group currently employs over 100 staff and recorded EUR 5 million (ZAR 68.6 million) in revenue for the fiscal year ending February 2013.

Integrating Carab Tekniva will add complementary services to Bureau Veritas' existing offering in South Africa and will support power, mining and oil & gas projects in neighboring countries.

Following this acquisition, Bureau Veritas now has 1,300 employees in South Africa.
