Bayshore Networks(R) Is First to Embrace Cisco TrustSec SXP Protocol

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 6, 2014) - Bayshore Networks®, the leading provider of deep content inspection technology for converged Information Technology and Operational Technology networks, announced today it is the first independent technology vendor to adopt Cisco's Security Group Tag Exchange Protocol, or SXP.

Bayshore's implementation of SXP will enable Cisco and Bayshore customers to propagate Security Group Tags across Cisco TrustSec-enabled devices. Last month, Cisco published SXP in the form of an IETF draft document, effectively making it available for open development.

"By publishing SXP, Cisco has opened up the provisioning of high-speed TrustSec plain language security policies to new areas of the network," said Bayshore Networks' Founder and CEO Francis Cianfrocca. "This enables Bayshore's deep content inspection to communicate access-policy changes at line rate to our customer's switches, routers or firewalls."

Cisco TrustSec enables organizations to secure their networks and services through identity-based access control to anyone, anywhere, anytime. The solution also offers data integrity and confidentiality services, policy-based governance, and centralized monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting services. TrustSec can be combined with personalized, professional service offerings to simplify solution deployment and management.

Bayshore's Layer 7 content inspection technology implements advanced behavioral analysis, application discovery and profiling. This complements signature-based solutions to provide complete data control within networks. Bayshore's high-speed, multi-protocol technology is aimed at securing the converged IT and operational technology networks in the enterprise core rather than at the network perimeter.

Bayshore showcased its technology in the Cisco's Enterprise Networks and Internet of Things Partner Pavilion at Cisco Live in Milan, Italy last week. Bayshore demonstrated its flagship SingleKey™ content inspection appliance and its new Pallaton™ data-level control policy engine. The demonstration featured integration with Cisco's Identity Services Engine (ISE). The solution enables enterprise and industrial control customers to protect their critical assets from industrial espionage, business disruption and increasingly sophisticated attacks.
