New York, Feb. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- ICAP Patent Brokerage announces for sale a wireless power technology IP portfolio from Extremely Ingenious Engineering, LLC. This IP package is available via sealed bid with a bidding deadline of March 27, 2014. Bids for this lot will be accepted starting March 25 through March 27.

"The wireless power system available for sale provides the next generation in charging technology; with the potential to improve existing charging methods and become the foundation for innovative new products. Accordingly, the new owner of this IP portfolio will gain a distinct advantage in the expansive consumer electronics industry," says Dean Becker, CEO of ICAP Patent Brokerage.

Key Characteristics & Benefits

Today, owning an abundant supply of electronic devices is the norm. However, operating computers, smart phones, and speakers in one concentrated area typically results in a messy, disorganized pile of wires and disorganization. Current attempts to organize may untangle the mess but renders devices unmovable because they must be anchored to a wall in order to receive the stream of power necessary to function.

The assets available for sale eliminate the need for cumbersome wires by providing a charging system for the wireless transfer of electrical power and the components necessary to do so. These inventions allow a user to wirelessly charge devices simply by moving a device within the range of a specialized transmitter.

When operational, a compact wireless transmitter is plugged into a power outlet. The transmitter generates a spherical electromagnetic field that can be focused toward a receiver. The range of the field will depend on the characteristics of the transmitter, such as its size. The devices are coupled with a wireless receiver, either via a small added component or integrated into the device, which communicates with the transmitter. Therefore, electronic devices within range of the transmitter are provided with a steady supply of wireless power, eliminating the need to plug them into an outlet.

The system also applies to devices that require periodic charging such as smart phones and tablets. The wireless receiver may be integrated into a protective case or into the device itself, and when in range of the transmitter the device is charged.
