Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) Taps Scribe to Improve Care

McGladrey and Scribe Power Award-Winning imagine Initiative

MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwired - Mar 4, 2014) - Microsoft Convergence 2014 Booth #2703 -- Scribe Software, an established global provider of solutions that easily bring customer data anywhere it is needed, today announced its part in the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) imagine initiative, a Convergence 2014 Microsoft Customer Excellence Award winner. Together with McGladrey LLP -- the leading U.S. provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market -- Scribe served as a key component in a new, cross-county system that connects data with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and streamlines important operational processes to improve the lives of the disabled individuals served by the DODD.

"Our focus has always been squarely on the individuals and families we serve, but our staff was constrained by an outdated system," said Vicki Rich, chief public information officer of the Ohio DODD. "By creating a common, enterprise-wide core business framework powering collaboration across departments and counties, we're now able to efficiently provide the information our workers and partners need to offer the quality, personalized care our patrons deserve."

Ohio is one of the nation's leaders in providing various residential options to its citizens with disabilities. Continuing its mission to continuously improve the quality of life for Ohio's citizens with developmental disabilities and their families, the department wanted an efficient way to share human and financial resources while driving the adoption of standardized business process best practices across counties. The Ohio DODD's imagine initiative transformed an inefficient, fragmented paper-based system into a seamless, flexible, coordinated system of care built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM that provides simple, secure and mobile access to information and a common data repository for DODD staff and providers.

"The McGladrey team recommended Scribe for the imagine project based on our long relationship of success with Scribe and other clients," said Phil Haase, director of technology consulting for McGladrey. "At McGladrey, we understand that there are many complex queue-based integrations with legacy systems, and Scribe has handled the complexity while achieving excellent performance. Additionally, the imagine project is a blended team of State and McGladrey professionals so we needed a product that could be picked up by developers quickly as the State was leading integration. Three State developers worked on the integrations and have mastered the product and the complex integrations all within the project timelines. This is another reason that Scribe is a leader in the Dynamics integration space."

Primarily managing queue-based integrations, Scribe now connects seven different environments and automatically pulls data from various systems (including billing, provider registration, demographics, etc.), giving the Ohio DODD a way to quickly set up new patrons or move existing individuals into the integrated system with just a click of a button.

The Ohio DODD plans to expand the successful initiative across all 88 County Boards of Developmental Disabilities (CBDD) in the state and integrate more back-end and billing systems.

"We are committed to offering the absolute simplest, easy-to-use way for organizations to integrate data across business applications in even the most complex and disjointed environments. Every year, we're thrilled to see our vision become a reality as we support the majority of initiatives winning Microsoft Customer Excellence awards," added Scribe CEO Lou Guercia. "We continue to have a stronghold in the public sector, and it's fulfilling to see our software improving the care of disabled individuals across Ohio."

Approximately half of the Convergence 2014 Microsoft Customer Excellence Award winners use Scribe to drive their integration efforts, and more than 80 percent of the MS Dynamics partners servicing award winners use Scribe as their customer data integration solution of choice.
