Brown Books Publishing Group Announces the Launch of Brown Books Kids, Names Sherry Koven as Director

New division highlights company's 20th Anniversary

DALLAS, March 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brown Books Publishing Group, in celebration of its 20th Anniversary, announces the launch of Brown Books Kids, directed by Sherry Koven. Also known as the "Director of Happiness," Koven brings with her sixteen years of experience, working together with children's book authors whose passions are to inspire and motivate young readers.

From "Once upon a time" to Brown Books Kids, this is an exciting time for Brown Books Publishing Group, as it enters its third decade in publishing. Although this is a new division, Brown Books has been publishing children's books, along with many, many other genres over the last twenty years. In fact, a children's book was the first one off the press.

For Koven, who joined Brown Books in 1998––before taking time off to become a mom to two beautiful children––this is a great opportunity to return to her passion for writing, and children's books. As a young girl she kept a daily journal for her creative writing ideas and thoughts. When as a new mom, she was offered a baby shower a baby BOOK shower was a must!

When Koven first met with Milli Brown, founder and visionary of Brown Books Publishing Group, fifteen years ago, they both knew it was a match meant to be. Over the years, Koven has worked in numerous capacities for the company, helping with editing, layout and design, and marketing and public relations. She also spent several years overseeing Personal Profiles, the family biography division.

Koven's passion for children's books and helping others see their dreams become a reality, makes her the perfect fit to head up Brown Books Kids division. In addition to her extensive expertise, the enthusiasm she brings to the table, will make any author smile.

"I've been along for the adventure for the past sixteen years and am honored to be put at the helm of this special division," Koven says. "I can't wait to keep seeing what's next. It's always Happily Ever After around here!"
