ACORE and Bloomberg New Energy Finance Sign Collaboration for Webinar Series Programming and Content Development

WASHINGTON, March 6, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) today announced a collaborative partnership for ACORE's well-known Renewable Energy Seminar and Teleconference Series, produced with the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (ABA SEER). BNEF will provide insight on the future of the energy system, with a particular focus on the U.S., for the webinar series.

"ACORE's Board-ratified strategic plan highlights the need for energy literacy, and we seek to educate on the compelling economic benefits of renewable energy through every communications outlet we have—including the Renewable Energy Seminar and Teleconference Series," said Michael Brower, ACORE President and CEO. "With the highly-regarded research and programming recommendations of BNEF, the webinar series will be able to better spread the understanding that renewable energy technologies are real, affordable and scaling up, creating new value chains and jobs in the process."

Michel Di Capua, Bloomberg New Energy Finance Head of North America said, "The combined expertise of all parties - Bloomberg New Energy Finance, ACORE, and ABA - will lead to productive learning opportunities, providing a solid foundation for all energy professionals to work towards building a resilient energy system in the U.S."

"The ABA and ACORE have been jointly presenting the successful Renewable Energy Seminar and Teleconference Series for several years," said Sarah Fitts, Vice Chair for ABA/ACORE Webinars on the Renewable, Alternative and Distributed Energy Resources Committee of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER) of the American Bar Association. "We at SEER know how important it is to have in hand the sort of timely, deep research BNEF is known for and are thrilled to have BNEF's research, analysis and support for the series. We look forward to working with ACORE and BNEF going forward."

ABA, ACORE and BNEF will work collaboratively to bring a comprehensive view of the United States energy sector to the webinar series, as each organization brings its unique analysis on renewable energy, technology, policy, finance and the legal system. This strong partnership advances the goals of all of the parties; providing insight on the future of the energy system, developing a stronger and more resilient energy future for the United States, and promoting energy literacy.

"We're looking forward to working with BNEF on materials that support and highlight the successes of the renewable energy industry," said Dawn Butcher, ACORE's SVP for Events and IT, and the longtime manager of the webinar series. "The Renewable Energy Seminar and Teleconference Series also provides the industry with insights and content to support and advance market and finance strategies that will help define the energy future of the United States."
