Premium, Semi-Rugged Notebooks Are Easy to Deploy and Reduce Total Cost of Ownership

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fujitsu, a leading information and communication technology company that offers a full range of technology products, solutions and services, today announced the launch of its updated line of LIFEBOOK® E-Series Professional Notebooks. Available in 13.3-, 14- and 15.6-inch models, the next-generation LIFEBOOK E line of semi-rugged notebooks provides ultimate business performance, comprehensive security features and a durable design, all while being easy to deploy across the enterprise.

"IT departments across the globe are constantly challenged with arming their workforces with the technology tools that enhance mobile productivity and also remain secure, durable and easy to deploy," said Kevin Wrenn, senior vice president, Fujitsu America, Inc. "Stemming from the success of the first-generation LIFEBOOK E line, we have updated the features and functionality of our popular professional notebooks to address companies' evolving mobile needs, so IT departments no longer need to compromise on their core requirements when deploying products."

The new LIFEBOOK E Notebooks feature the latest 4th generation Intel® Core™ vPro™ processor technology. In combination with their modular bay options, such as the innovative bay projector, second battery and hard disk drive, three USB 3.0 ports, as well as DVD or Blu-ray writers, the LIFEBOOK E line enables maximum mobile productivity. In addition, Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E line Notebooks offer optimal usability in a variety of work environments, equipped with an anti-glare display, large touchpad, battery life of up to 21 hours and optional backlit keyboard.

Designed with comprehensive security features, including a Smart Card reader, fingerprint sensor, TCG OPAL compliant self-encrypted drive (SED) and trusted platform module (TPM), the LIFEBOOK E line ensures maximum protection of enterprise data, as well as data stored within the device itself. User privacy is also incorporated into the design with each notebook having a full HD webcam equipped with a status LED that indicates when it's in use.

IT departments can cost effectively and easily deploy Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E line Notebooks across the organization. Manufactured with a high-end magnesium alloy, Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E line Notebooks have a semi-rugged, durable and easy-to-maintain build that offers protection from bumps and drops common during normal use and travel. All three models also have common Basic Input/Output System (BIOS), shared modular components and accessories, such as a port replicator, modular bay elements and AC adapter, resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
